Carolyn Carleton brings decades of ministry and leadership experience to Equipped Leadership Mentoring. A former pastor’s wife, youth missions leader, and national award-winning author for a book written to empower teen girls, Carolyn has walked alongside leaders in every season of life. Her journey has taken her across Canada speaking in high schools, women’s retreats, camps, conferences, and small groups—always with a heart to serve and a passion to see others equipped for good works (2 Timothy 3:16–17).
After years in ministry and leadership, Carolyn recognized a growing need: Christian leaders craving a safe, authentic space for support, accountability, and spiritual direction. That calling became Equipped Leadership Mentoring—a space to listen, discern, and ask the hard questions that help leaders stay grounded in integrity while navigating the challenges of their calling.
Carolyn and her husband recently celebrated 25 years of marriage, a story that began during her high school speaking tours. Together, they’ve raised two adult daughters and continue to walk out a life of faith and purpose.
Alongside ministry, Carolyn has served as Executive Director for non-profit organizations, worked in municipal government as an Economic Development Manager, and provided strategic consulting to help teams find clarity and direction. Her blend of spiritual insight and organizational expertise makes her uniquely equipped to walk alongside leaders navigating both the seen and unseen pressures of leadership.
Why Equipped Leadership?
Throughout her years of ministry, Carolyn has attended countless pastor retreats, leadership conferences, and church events. While these gatherings provided inspiration and learning, she recognized a deeper, ongoing need among today’s Christian leaders—an authentic, sustained source of support beyond the brief moments of connection at these events. Leaders face immense pressure, not only to guide their congregations but to maintain healthy spiritual, emotional, and familial foundations. Often, the very people they serve cannot provide the accountability and mentorship they need due to the unique demands of leadership. Carolyn saw that leaders needed a safe, non-judgmental space where they could be honest about their struggles and be equipped to walk a path of integrity.
The need for such mentorship became deeply personal for Carolyn when she encountered her own battle with spiritual abuse. It was a painful, isolating journey that took years to heal from—a wound that went so deep she couldn’t speak about it for a long time. This experience was a turning point. She realized the importance of having a place where Christian leaders can experience real, raw, and authentic support. A place where they can confront the challenges they face, without fear of judgment, and rebuild from a foundation rooted in Christ.
Through Equipped Leadership Mentoring, Carolyn offers what she believes is missing in many church leadership circles: true accountability, healing conversations, and guidance that nurtures the whole person. Leaders are more than their roles in the pulpit—they are spouses, parents, and individuals with their own personal walks of faith. Equipped Leadership exists to strengthen not just their ministries but their souls, marriages, and families—the very core of who they are.
Carolyn’s mission is to ensure that no leader has to walk the journey alone. By providing a space where Christian leaders can be vulnerable, honest, and equipped, she helps them grow stronger in their calling. Everyone deserves a place to be mentored and held accountable, to receive the tools and wisdom necessary to lead with integrity, grace, and strength. For Carolyn, this is not just about leadership skills—it’s about helping leaders become the people God has called them to be, so they can lead with a renewed heart and spirit.
